Chris's Story

I’m dealing with diabetes. I learned two years ago that I’m diabetic, and I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it. I’ve been coming here for about a year. When I first started I’d come in twice a month, but I’ve gotten my blood sugar under control so now it’s about once a month. They’ve been able to provide me everything I need. Without health insurance, it’s kind of great that they’re here to help the community. I was working, but the man I worked for retired. Obviously in this economy, it’s hard to keep a small business going. So I’m either going to find a way to get into college, or I’m going to find a new job. My uncle used to come here. He told me about it. He got better. I live on 53rd and Center. I have family down here, so I’m here regularly. Coming here once a month gives me a chance to visit.
